Good News, Everyone: Upgrading to iOS 7 Will Totally Make Your Phone Waterproof

iOS 7 is undoubtedly the most significant iOS update yet. A totally redesigned interface, the addition of Control Center, support for Touch ID… iOS 7 is just packed with new and exciting features.

But there’s one incredible feature you probably didn’t know iOS 7 has: it makes your iPhone waterproof. (Ignore the haters in those Twitter screenshots up there.)

“Update to iOS 7 and become waterproof,” reads a totally legit ad for iOS 7 that’s currently making its way around the web. According to the ad, “in an emergency, a smart-switch will shut off the phone’s power supply and corresponding components to prevent any damage to your iPhone’s delicate circuitry.”
